Goodbye And Thank You JackThreads

Over five years ago, I was approached by JackThreads to join their merchandise team. My career at that point had consisted of brick & mortar or wholesale energy establishments. JackThreads being a flash based business model and in a e-commerce platform definitely put me outside of my comfort zone. It was the complete opposite of A Bathing Ape, Mike, and Training Camp where I was accustomed to brand building, culture connecting, and constant lines of customers every weekend to buy hyped up products.

I saw that e-commerce was the future and I jumped at the opportunity to join. From that point on the company has taken on a few identity shifts. We transitioned the brand from a flash based model to a regular retail model then to a vertical brand. Every change has been very challenging and rewarding. Each change we made we built something greater. Personally I grew as a manager and well rounded merchant. As JackThreads grew more brands wanted to sell to us and also collaborate with us. Our own vertical line also got better. We launched our own apparel line and rounded it out with footwear and accessories a year later.

The one constant through all of this has been the team and our partners who believed in our vision. Unfortunately like many good things in life, things have to end. Maybe too abruptly.

More than five years at JackThreads, it’s been fun. Very thankful for all the colleagues and business partners I have met during this time. Many of those turning into deeper bonds and life long friendships. It’s been a pleasure building and creating with all of you. As we now look for new opportunities, its the friendships and office banter that I'll miss the most. We all leave JackThreads much smarter and better people. On to the next chapter.
